Walt Disney World Social Media Moms Celebration 2016: The Magic Started on Day One – Have you ever been to a social media conference? You learn a lot at conferences, but none of them could ever compare to the experience I had at the 2016 Disney Social Media Mom’s Celebration. It was one of the most magical times you could ever imagine. I love that Disney not only sees the value in mom and family bloggers, but also inspires you to live better, be better, and treat each other better. It was like nothing I had ever experienced before. Every sponsor cares about you, your family, and your business in a way that makes you want to keep doing what you’re doing and strive to be the best you can be every day!
I am going to take you through a 4-day journey of one of the most magical experiences of my life. Day one was packed with magic, charisma, and excitement right from the very beginning.
Before we Arrived: The Sponsors
All attendees received, from one of the amazing sponsors, American Tourister, wheeled luggage! American Tourister, the official luggage of Walt Disney World, made sure that we were taken care of before we even made it to the conference. Not only did we get a free bag, but the upon arrival we got to see the amazing line of the new popular luggage that families can’t wait to get their hands on (including mine!) Each piece of luggage was intricately made with quality materials and designed with families in mind!!!
The Welcome
The magic started on day one with an awe-inspiring welcome at the Yacht Club Resort at Walt Disney World. There were signs hanging from the ceiling showcasing the “Social Media Mom’s Celebration.” In every direction, we were greeted like royalty attending a ball. My families couldn’t have been more excited!
We had exclusive pictures with Mickey and, I can’t forget enjoyed the best coffee & tea (responsibly grown and harvested) with Joffrey’s – another awesome (and delicious) conference sponsor. I was given another American Tourister monogrammed bag (featuring Social Media Mom’s Celebration on it along with an exclusive name badge with my name and business on it. Nothing could have made us feel more special at that point in time.
Meeting New People
We spent the day exploring Hollywood Studios then onto the networking happy hour meeting exciting bloggers and social media friends from all over the world that we only previously met online. Everyone was super friendly and happily talked with us on the yacht ride to Animal Kingdom for our 1st “Wild” dinner. My son and daughter met other kids their age while my husband and I met other bloggers, social media mavens, and sponsors. Meeting and hugging Mickey Mouse was the highlight of my daughter’s day…… Well until she met this tall fellow on stilts playing the drums! (Oh and yes, my husband purchased one for her for drive home – What was he thinking!!!!) The entertainment at the dinner was amazing! It’s the traditional entertainment you’d find in Africa (and of course all throughout Animal Kingdom!) Thank you Huggies! I’ve been a Huggies fan for years and still am even though my daughter is no longer in day time diapers. The thickness and quality is excellent! They’re a must have for colds, cars, bathrooms and coolers! So many uses! I tried their new “Clutch n’ Clean” wipes at the conference and loved it – perfect for busy moms with messy kids (like mine!)
The Yacht Club:
We stayed at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, and every night there was a new “gift” in our room from the sponsors. I got 2 huge beach towels, black American Tourister tote, Disney Mom mickey ears (to wear on my head around park) and so much more (books, Mickey Plush etc). The entire club was like a palace from a story book with a huge staircase fit for a princess. My daughter and I enjoyed searching for the hidden Mickey on the globe inside the lobby. We loved the views of the crescent lake as the Disney lights glistened over its surface each night.
It was truly a magical day, and we were excited for the adventures that were to come on day two of our adventure.
