Top 10 Avocado Oil Uses
One thing I am a fan of using all around the home is avocado oil. Uses for this product are limitless! From homeopathic health remedies to cleaning and cooking, avocado oil is a product that can truly do just about everything. Today, I’d like to share a few of my favorite uses for avocado oil.
Avocado oil comes from a fruit-bearing tree and the avocado fruit itself can be used as a homeopathic remedy for many things. It is an excellent source of potassium, and can help with elevated cholesterol levels, increase sexual desire, and aids in GI problems. It can also be beneficial in treatment of osteoarthritis, because avocado contains chemicals that help repair cartilage in the joints. The bark and leaves of the tree are known to have these and many other uses. When the fruit is pressed, the green fleshy part gives us avocado oil. Avocado oil has hundreds of uses, among them:
- Substitute avocado oil for other oils in your baking, in the same quantity, for healthier cooking
- Use it as a light spread on bagels or toast, and a pinch of cinnamon will taste great
- Marinate food in it before cooking on the grill
- Add to shampoo or use alone as a deep treatment for dry, brittle, damaged hair
- Makes an excellent skin moisturizer, especially for those with psoriasis or dry skin caused by medication
- Apply topically to diminish blackheads and shrink and refine your pores
- Replace polyunsaturated cooking oils such as corn oil with avocado when you fry foods
- Massage into your skin after a workout, then shower, to remove sweat and grime
- Use daily on the face – the high amount of Vitamin E will act as an anti-stress and anti-aging mask
- Avocado oil can be used topically to offer fast relief from the itch and sting of sunburn
So there you have it – another wonderful product that is good for so many things. Avocado oil is a must in my home. How about yours?
