Although EVERYONE looks forward to that period of relaxation between Christmas and New Years, sometimes families can get a little “stir crazy” spending so much time indoors because of the cooler temperatures this time of year in the Mid-Atlantic region. Just for this reason I have 3 Fun Family Things to Do Between Christmas and New Years.
Idea #1: ICE! at the Gaylord National Harbor: This is a one of a kind bone chilling event that is fun beyond all belief! This day long adventure begins with a tour of a custom ice display complete with slide for the kids (and adults if you dare) and ends with so many activities you’ll be dragging the kids away when it’s time to go! They have a gingerbread house making station, hot chocolate station, indoor ice skating, Build a Bear station, live song and dance show at with grand tree lighting at the days end – it’s AMAZING!
Idea #2 Great Wolf Lodge Williamsburg: Great Wolf is the answer to kids that wanna bust out that energy and get in the water even though it’s in the 20 degree range outside because you can hit the indoor water park, indoor bowling alley, play Magi Quest, leave the cooking behind with their reasonably priced buffets, or just relax in the room with their “wine down” service for parents.
Idea #3 Christmas Town Busch Garden Williamsburg: I’m told this is the largest display of lights anywhere in North America – it’s beautiful, awe inspiring, picturesque and totally fun because there are still so many rides still available for your excitement! Christmas Town transforms this one of a kind them park where you can visit Santa, see snow in France or take some family photos in front of one of the many lighted Christmas trees!
