Baltimore Ravens: Tailgate Party

I know everyone has been waiting to hear about my Baltimore Ravens tailgating party experience ….., and boy was it an experience! Are you planning to go to your teams Super Bowl tailgating party? I am still trying to recover from the lack of coffee that morning since not 1 tailgater had a pot of coffee brewing and the Dunkin Donuts trailer busted a generator ( but I lived :)) Luckily enough I have a son who says, he bleeds purple & with that he owns a lot of Ravens cold weather gear. What a cold morning! The 24 degrees was quite a shocker for this Floridian and I think even if I could have eaten it was just to cold to chew 🙂 !!! The atmosphere and energy of the tailgate party was electric! Everyone was nice and joined strangers for food, fun, & even playing games in the streets. Street merchants were selling everything from t-shirts, hats, gloves even Baltimore Ravens glass mugs. I saw street entertainers just trying to make a buck and no one minded or was rude!

The food was unbelievable; crab cakes, sauteed scallops, fried chicken, hamburgers loaded up with fried eggs & bacon, and so much more. The amazing thing is all of this was being done outside, in the cold, on a parking lot! They were cooking like they were in a 5 star kitchen! Did I need to mention the alcohol that was everywhere?!!! Being as though we are a family site I will leave that to your imagination.

I came across a few “die-hard” fans. I consider them die-hard when they do not care how they look or what they wear they are just there to be a fan & get in on every bit of the festivities and fun and show their support. They are usually in the same spot for every home game, rain, snow or sleet and they are wearing the same outfit and are always willing to pose for a picture!

So I guess the question is… Would i ever do this again? The answer would be YES!! It was a blast and even if you are not a huge fan you can appreciate the fun and passion Baltimore Ravens fans bring to these tailgating parties, it’s simply Awesome. Did you know Baltimore fans were voted #1 in having the best tailgating of any other city!! Now I know why!
