As the social creatures that humans tend to be, we do everything in life in the company of others. We play together, we see movies together, we vacation together. Do we save together?
Having a “coupon crony” is worth its weight in gold! A coupon crony will keep you excited about the latest sale, keep you up to date on the latest bargain, and best of all – keep you excited about your frugal living plan. Frugal living is much more than the next grocery coupon! Every time I think I’m just too busy to catch a good sale my crony calls to chat about her latest score. It might be finding clothes with the tags still on them at her local thrift shop, a big clearance sale at Kohl’s or a big savings at the grocery store. It keeps the excitement rolling and it makes me want to find the next deal and share it with her. My crony and I share coupons via the mail since we don’t live near each other, and we share stories about shopping – some of which are hysterical! Really hysterical!
My kids think I’m boring but I tried to explain that couponing & frugal living allows us to live a better life. We can still vacation in a bad economy; the kids take art classes and all sorts of other things. Even when my husband had his salary cut by 18 thousand a few years back, we were still able to keep up with our current lifestyle all thanks to our frugal living plan.
So get excited! Recruit a friend and most importantly, have a frugal living plan that includes more than just clipping coupons for the grocery store! We’ve devoted a category to frugal living at Family Frugal Fun and I now write articles each week on frugal living ideas. Look for my other frugal living tips in All You magazine, the Baltimore Sun Newspaper (Back to school article) and other great publications that have interviewed me. 😉
