Each week I try and put out a list of all of the rock bottom, bargain basement prices that you can find at stores nationwide. These are stock up deals and should be part of your frugal living plan. When you can snag items FREE or really cheap the reason you need to stock up is because if you wait until you “need” something, then you’ll be willing to pay full price. So, to avoid “needing” you will be purchasing things when they are free or deeply discounted.
For instance, my girlfriend about 2 year ago said, “Maggie I really want to start couponing – Will you help me?” Of course I agreed! The next week when I called her and told her about a deal at Walgreens on Advil her response was, “Oh no, I don’t need any right now. We just went to Sams Club last week and purchased a 500 count bottle.” Ok…. So what is wrong with that statement? Well when she runs out of her 500 count bottle it might not be on sale again and then she’ll “need” it and have to pay full price.
Frugal living is a plan – its not just clipping and submitting coupons at the grocery store. It a way to buy a new car, take a dream Disney vacation, or pay for ballet lessons for your daughter!
