I TRIED TO BUY 2 BOTTLES TODAY AND THE CASHIER TOLD ME SHE COULD ONLY TAKE 1 COUPON BECAUSE THE CODES WERE THE SAME. I THOUGHT WHEN THE COUPON WAS IN THIS FORMAT YOU COULD USE THEM TOGETHER???
Maggie says
You can only buy 1 Malatonin and use 1 coupon per transaction to generate the $3.00 Jingle Cash (Walgreens Register Reward).
You can “stack” store coupons and manufacturer coupons together but not 2 manufacturer coupons. If you live near me I’dbe happy to meet with you and go “Extreme Couponing” one day.
If you want to get more than 1 Melatonin you have to do separate transactions to make the deal work for you so you make the $3 bucks each time and get the Register Rewards (Jingle Cash).

No, I was trying to buy 2 bottles and use two of those $3 off coupons( I printed 2) one for each bottle but the cashier told me the coupon had the same bar code so I could only use one coupon and she wouldn’t allow me to use the other coupon. I tried to explain the coupon printed in pdf format and I could print more than one but she told me no. Am i wrong? If it’s in pdf format can you print more than one? I thought they all printed the same bar code for everyone????

Your cashier was wrong. There are a few times that I have run into a cashier and my savings were in question…. Here is what I did;
I keep a copy of the Walgreens coupon acceptance policy in my coupon binder. When my savings are in question, I pull it out!. You were not wrong with the transaction. In your shoes (and I have been in them!) I would have pulled out a copy of their coupon acceptance policy – you can find the link in my Walgreens Store Guide on the blog, then told her (politely of course) that there was no place that it was stated in the policy that pdf coupons were not accepted nor did it state that only 1 coupon in pdf could be accepted. I’d then ask her/him to put through my transactions. If she refused (and I’ve had that happen) I’d ask for a manager. When I was refused I quickly found out that day that the cashier was the manager! So I was lucky enough to be shopping during business hours since I’m a stay at home mom so I then called the 1-800 Walgreens customer service number – exact number is in the store guide on the blog. I spoke with customer service and they agreed that I was correct and then spoke to the manager and my transaction was completed. It was a hassle and did take about 10mins.
I don’t usually run into problems but when I do I’m prepared with the policy of the store. As a back up I call customer service. The one time our savings were in question after business hours, I called the next day and complained about the store and explained the issue and gave them the store address. They resolved the issue 2 days later. You can ask to be notified once the store manager is contacted.
I hate to hear stories like this because I don’t want couponers to get discouraged. It really is a great way to save for you and your family.
I’ve only run into problems a handful of times and 99% of the time, politely pulling out the store policy clears up the issue and my transaction is completed.
I wish you well and if there is anything else I can do please let me know. I’d be most appreciate if you could post the store, city and State for others. You never know when someone else is having the same issue.
If you have other questions I’d be happy to speak with you on the phone if you like or you can message again.
Keep couponing! Thanks for reading http://www.familyfrugalfun.com! I hope this was helpful to answer your questions!

Thank you! I think she was scared she was going to get in trouble because she said she was told to look at the bar codes on coupons to make sure they were different indicating they weren’t just copied. When I tried to explain that that particular coupon will have the same bar code because it was in pdf format she wasn’t buying it so then I was starting to doubt myself thinking maybe you can’t print more than one so I didn’t make a fuss.
I thought you could print ten if you wanted and its all the same so thank you for clearing that up for me…..I don’t ever want to do something wrong to mess up the couponing for myself or others.:)
