Did you know that January is National Oatmeal month? Well being as it is soooo cold outside in the month of January I’m not surprided! More oatmeal is consumed in January than any other month. Oatmeal is consumed in cereal (Quaker Oat Squares, Granola), oatmeal cookies, granola bars, and plain (cooked style or instant). It is full of nutrition and fiber – the soluble and the insoluble type which is great for your body and helps to control cholesterol. Well I have some coupons for you today and a great oatmeal crisp recipe for this great, healthy, month long holiday!
This National and unique Holiday (National Oatmeal Month) sheds light on this great super food and there are different celebrations both small and large to celebrate.
My children likely have no idea about any of these interesting tidbits on oatmeal, they just know that its easy to pop in the microwave, mix with milk or water, and eat. Done! We, as a family, lean toward oatmeal for breakfast in the winter because it feels like a comfort food; warm, kinda creamy, tasty and hot.
If you aren’t big on eating a hot bowl it also has hundreds of other uses from colloidal oatmeal baths for chicken pox, feed for farm animals, facial masks to thickening up your favorite recipe or making a topping for a yummy apple crisp.
So in celebration of National Oatmeal Month I figured I’d come up as many coupons as possible so you eat more oatmeal in your home for a healthier new you as well as my favorite recipe for Oatmeal, all in celebration of this holiday.
