Here is an easy DIY Easter Cookie recipe! Its so fun and simple I made this with my 3 year old this afternoon!
I love Easter and everything about – the Easter dresses for church, bunny rabbits, jelly beans and and a good Easter dinner recipe – YUM! Well this Easter cookie recipe is really fun and super easy and delicious! Now I’m going to give you my recipe below but I’ll tell you the EASIEST way to make these little Easter Egg cookies is to you Pillsbury ready make sugar cookie dough. Its a way to make “homemade” with out all of the mess and fuss. So if you’re short on time that is definitely the way to go…. Otherwise~
My 3 year old LOVES to bake, make and cook in the kitchen. I always remember my mother telling us all to “get out of the kitchen” and I swore I’d keep my kids in the kitchen having fun. Now don’t take pity on me because my mom had 6 kids was some how able to get a full meal on the table every night without fail. Me – I just have 2 little ones left so there’ s a big difference. I image 6 kids would be much more overwhelming! ☺
Easter Cookie Recipe ingredients:
First we made our sugar cookie dough. There’s a difference between a regular sugar cookie recipe and a sugar cookie recipe that’s meant for using cookie cutters. If you don’t use the right recipe with your cookie cutters, you won’t get them to turn out the way you want. That could end up being a very disappointing because the shapes of the eggs won’t hold. Here’s my sugar cookie dough recipe: (or skip this step and use Pillsbury already made cookie dough, Sugar Cookies)
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup Domino sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Egg Shape Cookie Cutters
