I found a great garden zone map that will help new gardeners figure out what plants will grow best in their area of the country. I know we’re big on gardening and my kids love it too! So NOW is the time to add to your calendar a date to plant your garden.
I made a decision this year to push my garden a little further this year and purchase a portable greenhouse. They have pretty good reviews. You can find them starting at $30 up to $300.00. The one above that I’m purchasing is only around a $100 bucks. A great investment for fresh fruit and veggies and to be able to pick my harvest quite a but earlier in the season and to grow later in the season so I’m really excited!
I made so many awesome recipes last year. It was great! Below is my recipe for Summer Squash pie;

2 LAND O LAKES® Eggs, well beaten (I used my own fresh eggs from our hen)2 cups shredded Muenster or mozzarella cheese (8 oz)1 can (8 oz) Pillsbury® refrigerated crescent dinner rolls (or any kind of pop up biscuit for crust)2 teaspoons yellow mustard ( I used about a tablsp and a half but that was my preference)
1Heat oven to 375°F. In 12-inch skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat. Add zucchini and onions; cook 6 to 8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender. Stir in parsley flakes, salt, pepper, garlic powder, basil and oregano.
- 2In large bowl, mix eggs and cheese. Add cooked vegetable mixture; stir gently to mix.
- 3 Separate dough into 8 triangles. Place in un-greased 10-inch glass pie plate, 12×8-inch (2-quart) glass baking dish or 11-inch quiche pan; press over bottom and up sides to form crust. Firmly press perforations to seal. Spread crust with mustard. Pour egg mixture evenly into crust-lined pie plate.
- 4Bake 18 to 22 minutes or until knife inserted near center comes out clean. If necessary, cover edge of crust with strips of foil during last 10 minutes of baking to prevent excessive browning. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
