Staples Price Match Guarantee Policy

Did you know that you can price match at Staples? Not a lot of people know that so I thought I would go over what the Staples price match policy is and how it works.

How does Staples’ price match guarantee work?
If you know of a item that is cheaper,  just show the lower price when you buy the item at Staples. They will then match the price. (for instance bring in the sale circular of Office Depot or Office Max)

What if I have already purchased the item?
You have 14 days after your Staples purchase to bring in the price that you would like matched to get the difference. (be sure to bring in the competitors circular in full noting the dates of the sale etc)

Will Staples price match any competitors ad?
Yes! Staples stores will price match prices of their competitors (brick-n- mortar retail stores) and from Staples.com (online).

Can you price match when buying online?
Yes! Staples.com will price match select competitors websites as well as Staples retail stores. The select competitors that they will match online are, Amazon, Best Buy, Costco, Dell, Hewlett Packard, Office Depot, Office Max, Quill, Medical Arts Press, Reliable, Sam’s Club, Walmart, WB Mason and Xerox.

Does Staples price match all of their items?
They will price match almost everything they sell. There are a few rules that you must follow. The item must be identical, including model number, components and U.S. warranty. The item must be in stock and available for purchase at that price that you are having price matched. Staples reserves the right to verify. Wireless phones and other items with a service plan, only in—store purchases are eligible for price match. These such products and services purchased online at their Mobile Phone sales & service site are not eligible for price match.

Will they price match clearance items?
No! They will not price match to competitors or our their own local special events like grand opening, anniversary, clearance, timed sales or liquidation sales. They also will now price match third—party providers products and services such as custom printing. Staples will not price match typographical errors, gift cards, or merchandise credits.

Can I use coupons and rebates after a price match price has been deducted?
No! All coupons and rebates will be taken off before they price match the item. Example: If you buy an item from for $159 and you have a coupon for $25 off a $100 order, as well as a $20 mail-in rebate, the net price is $114. If another company’s price is $110, your price match savings would be $4.

What if the price match item comes with a gift card or rebate?
Staples will not take these discounts into account. If a competitor offers a product that comes with a free or discounted item, and Staples does not carry the free or discounted item, they will only match the price you pay at the point of purchase, and will not take the free or discounted item into account.

Is there a limited number on price matched products?
Staples may limit the quantity of the price matched item, particularly if the other company has set a limit. In addition, we reserve the right to limit quantities sold to a customer.
