Time Out for Back to School Prayers

Gearing up for the return to busy life with school schedules and lists is exciting!! And it can be overwhelming to the Family Coordinator (that would be you). All this focus on “getting ready” can also take our eyes off of Today’s Main Thing. So here’s a little Back to school prayer to keep in your hip pocket:

Dear Lord, as we get ready for all the back-to-school craziness headed our way, guide us to keep you the center of Everything and watch over our thoughts, words choices and interactions that they would be pleasing to You.

While all the items on your “To-Do List” are hanging out in the back of your mind, sipping cool drinks and talking about you – you can give yourself a time out. Find the nearest corner and sit. Take a deep breath. And another. Close your eyes. He says, “Be still and know that I am God, I will be exalted over all the nations. I will be exalted over all the earth!” (Ps 46:10)

I hope you find that simple message as reassuring as I do I believe God is reminding us : “ Stop your striving. I’m in charge – not you. And I’m the One this is all about – my story that I’m writing on your life. And it’s going to be amazing. Let Me be in charge.”
