This Halloween recipe is super kid friends, easy to make and tasty too! Who doesn’t like Rice Krispy treats, right? My mom used to make Rice Krispy treats for me when I was a kid so it’s only natural to turn them into some fun and festive Halloween foods! Ok so lets get crackin’ on some Rice Krispy candy corn;
How to make Kellogg’s Rice Krispy Candy Corn:
- Kellogg’s Rice Krispy Cereal
- Bag of Marshmallows
- Butter
- White Icing or Wilton Candy Melts (then add food color)
- Optional: Treat bags (to take them to a school party etc)
Rice Krispies
- 3 tablespoons butter or margarine
- 1 package (10 oz., about 40) regular marshmallows
- OR
- 4 cups Kraft marshmallows
- 6 cups Kellogg’s® Rice Krispies® cereal
Directions
1. In large saucepan melt butter over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Stir in food coloring (if desired). Remove from heat.
2. Add KELLOGG’S RICE KRISPIES cereal. Stir until well coated.
3. Using butter spatula or your hand coated with a little butter or coconut oil & press mixture into a pan with a light coating of cooking spray, butter or coconut oil. After they’ve cooled then remove start cutting into candy corn shapes.(triangles)
After you’ve cut up the treats now either use icing or melt Wilton candy melts (white) to ice them in candy corn colors. You’ll need to add food coloring to your icing or candy melts. Plastic candy wrap (optional) makes them easier to transport unless you have a nice festive Halloween tin. Be SURE that they are completely dry before wrapping.
MICROWAVE DIRECTIONS
In microwave-safe bowl heat butter and marshmallows on HIGH for 3 minutes, stirring after 2 minutes. Stir until smooth. Follow steps 2 and 3 above. Microwave cooking times may vary.
