The moment though that we stepped into the area for the Medieval Times Dinner & tournament we were treated like royalty. Everyone is dressed in character and acts in character – it’s soooo much fun!
We got seated very swiftly and our waiter (he’s been with company for 3 years) was great. He was engaging with the crowd and extremely attentive. He made us feel very comfortable and worthy to be a guest of this”royal” establishment. Also, some other employees (I assumed they were managers) came to each of us and asked us if everything was ok. Just all around excellent service.
The fighting during the show was so realistic. As fans of dressage we were surprised to watch the horses make their moves. The show was great. The horses are pristine. I think the show lasted around 2 hours but honestly we all lost track of time so I’m not quite positive.
In addition, there was a short demonstration of falconry. I’ve seen various horse shows since I grew up riding horses but I had never seen a show involving falconry. Absolutely awesome!
The food was delicious. Our kids could not say enough about how much they loved the food. Everything was served hot. I completely enjoyed my trip into Medieval Times. The chicken was cooked properly and moist, the potato wedge was really good, and the dessert left my picky crew with no complaints.
We were assigned to cheer for the black and green knight. The kids were hysterical cheering for our knight during the tournament. The commentator of the arena was very good too. I really liked the after show. Once the show is over you get to put on costumes and pose for pictures (for a fee) and what is great is that the riders of the horses and the actors of the show come out to sign autographs and visit with the guests. Our entire family loved this show. Definitely an event worth the drive and considering that we live an hours drive from the castle that says quite a bit.
