These are absolutely adorable if you’re searching for kids Halloween party food ideas!
Well I’m ALWAYS on the look out for unique ideas for Halloween parties and when I came across this image on my friend Brandy’s facebook page I asked her if I could post her images and recipe. This would be soooo great to make for kids Halloween parties. They are fun and cute and….. well who doesn’t like gingerbread men, right? Well here is the easy to follow recipe. Thanks again Brandy W.
Gingerbread Cookie Recipe
1 cup butter
¾ cup brown sugar
¾ cup sugar
1 egg
2 ½ cups flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon clove
½ teaspoon nutmeg
2 teaspoons ground ginger
Directions:
Cream together softened butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until well combined. Add egg and beat until light and fluffy.
In a separate bowl blend together all dry ingredients including spices.
Slowly add flour mixture to butter mixture until evenly mixed and ball of dough forms (add extra flour if needed. Dough will be tacky).
If you plan on using cookie cutters, cool dough and turn out onto a well floured area.
Preheat oven to 375°F once dough is cooled.
Roll chilled dough out onto well floured surface until about 1/8 inch thick and cut into whichever shape you choose.
Grease and flour a cookie sheet keeping in mind that these cookies will expand some, so try to keep them at least 1/2 inch apart on the cookie sheet.
Cookies are done when just barely golden around the edges.
To keep them crisp cool them on a wire rack.
Decorate once cooled and enjoy!
