Hey! I’ve been test driving new cars because I’m in the market to replace my van. My oldest 2 kids (I have 4) are off to college and both have their own vehicles so we’re no longer in need of a larger vehicle. Plus, with the price of gas these days I was hoping to save a little on weekly gas expenses and get something a bit more economical. That is where the 2014 Kia Sorento SX AWD Review comes in……
This car was awesome. I had the pleasure of test driving it for a week and I was so sad to give it up at the end of my test drive. This car has a double sun roof and I’d never seen on of those before. The kids loved it. Even in the cold we opened it a few times as we were driving on the rural country roads just to look at the stars. Even better, we drove through the Sandy Point State Park Lights on the Bay and had the BEST view of the lights with the sun roof. (Don’t mind the frost on the car in the image above – it’s been a COLD winter here in Maryland this year!)
The dash is great and super convenient too. I’m totally addicted to these back up cameras. They just seem so much more safe for a family person. Radio was great with convenient controls on the dash or on the steering wheel. Nice option Kia!
Well as you know, I have a family of 6 – I’m a mom with a husband and 4 kids so I NEED trunk space for groceries. Even though my oldest two are off to college it’s just a day college – then they’re back for dinner and boy do they eat! Ughh! So, when I hit the grocery store I need lots of room for groceries, bags etc. Well the Kia Sorento was great for that too! You can EASILY pop down a 3rd row of seats and boom – tons of trunk space.
The gas mileage on the Sorrento isn’t bad either. Still a little bit better than my Toyota Sienna so there’s more money to be saved on a weekly basis with my gas budget.
Overall the Kia Sorento is a winner in my book. WE even drove it up to the Baltimore National Aquarium and the car handles beautifully and quietly on the highway too. With the 3rd row of seating, the ability to pop it down if I needed, the back up camera, and the dual sun roof I think this car is totally wonderful! Don’t forget to chat wiht them on Twitter too. @Kia ☺

Maggie,
I have a 2011 KIA Sorento, and I LOVE IT! I gave up my van, when it gave up on me, for this car, and I can’t complain. I didn’t lose the seating that my van offered, I gave up the “stroller space” (with the car full of 7 passengers). With my 2 kids well above stroller age, it was hardly something we have missed.
