Oh this is fun! Would you like to make a fun breakfast for your kids this Valentine’s Day? How about these heart shaped pancakes or these red chocolate chip pancakes? Yum! This image is from my neighbor Sue – she’s always making something awesome for the kids! The other round pancakes that you see in the image above are regular pancakes with red food dye and chocolate chips to make it fun!
Banana Pancake Recipe Ingredients:
Bisquick
Hungry Jack Whole Wheat Pancake Mix
Coconut Oil
Banana
Eggs
Red Dye
Log Cabin Syrup (no high fructose corn syrup in this variety)
Follow the directions for pancakes on the box of Bisquick and Hungry Jack Whole Wheat pancake mix making about 1/2 of what you would usually make. After you’ve made both mixes combine the two and add 1 ripe banana. Mix in Blender well. Pour your pancakes onto your skillet. Garnish with a strawberry for nutrition and fun (optional)
Note: If you use a measuring cup with a pour spout it’s easier to get them into the heart shape.
OR, if you have a ketchup or mustard squeeze container that will work too. Make the shape then fill in the center (see image above)
My family never noticed that the pancakes with 50% whole wheat. The taste was great and they received the nutrition of the eggs and fruit! Plus I purchased a breakfast syrup that does NOT contain high fructose corn syrup. It was quick, easy and delicious. You can make these in advance the night before, heat them up in the microwave in the morning, then just add your strawberry garnish to save time in the mornings if need be.
