I found myself feeling so blessed today. I made Mickey Mouse sugar cookies with my daughter. We’re big Disney Fans so I was chosen to host a #DisneySide celebration and we were preparing. I’ve also been thinking about the upcoming Lenton season.
I am very fortunate to have the opportunity to stay home with my children, home school them, spend a day in our Pajamas (if we choose) and to bake with them. My oldest son is already 18 and in college (a successful home schooled student that entered college 2 weeks after turning 16) and my youngest is getting ready to turn 5. She’ll start our home school kindergarten this year and I was just realizing that this will be my last year teaching kindergarten. The time is just flying so fast but she’s not too old to rock yet, or to bake cookies, or to snuggle when afraid at night, or to make up silly words and laugh. These are the days that moms are made for and today I feel like the luckiest mom of all. That doesn’t mean that I didn’t accidentally burn 1 of the 4 batches of cookies (yep!) or that there wasn’t a colossal mess from Samantha getting out a “small” bit of flour for her rolling pin, but we laughed and played and loved and learned. One day I’ll miss having these moments with my youngest so I’m going to cherish them while they’re here…
