Honestly, I’ve been to plenty of conventions but NEVER a home school convention so this is going to be a 1st for me (and one lucky family that wins tickets too)! This is NOT just a curriculum fair, it is an ENTIRE convention with speakers, breakout session, curriculum and so much more. Plus it’s all at the beautiful Gaylord – which is stunningly beautiful! I’m really excited about going! It’s called Teach Them Diligently Home School Convention and you can win tickets or get discount tickets right now!
One family registration is good to get the entire immediate family into the convention: mom, dad, all the children, and even grandparents. There is an optional children’s program that runs on Friday and Saturday which is $35 per child, but it is optional. Children are welcome in the speaking sessions (I love that because so many things don’t include children but this convention is all about children). Also, this is not simply a curriculum fair. They have great speakers lined up and they are an important element of the convention. A family registration is $55 through Friday and $65 after that. There are about 200 speaking sessions plus a huge exhibit hall. I’ve been told that the Rainbow Resources, Abeka Books, Apologia, Alpha Omega, Classical Conversations, and Master Books displays will be the largest anyone has ever seen. Lol! Rainbow Resources display alone is larger than most houses. One more thing, they are having a men’s breakfast on Saturday morning, which is an additional cost, and a Men’s Focus for Fathers/Husbands which comes with the family registration. I love that they include dads!!!!

I want to attend the Teach Them Diligently Home School Convention because I need some encouragement and insight into how to be an effective and successful home-school family by groups such as Classical Conversations and Apologia. We are doing well, however, I just don’t know what I don’t know. I am excited for the opportunity to be surrounded by like-minded parents who want to nurture and disciple their children by home-schooling. I am beside myself with excitement with the thought of surrounding my children with other children who are home-schooled or better said, home-discipled. This would be my first convention and the only one that is close by that offers Christian speakers as well as a children’s program as well as a large number of curriculum venders. Teach Them Diligently is a family oriented, family friendly convention that I am looking forward to attending.

I need encouragement to continue this journey. Eight years later I still get discouraged and doubt rushes in almost daily. I know we were called by God to do this, I just need practical ways to walk on this journey. This conference would be a refreshing way to get encouraged!
