Today I had an opportunity to show viewers on Fox45 Baltimore some of my favorite recipes – Hug in a Mug Recipes. These are microwave mug recipes that anyone can make anywhere!
Well the secret is that I’ve been making “mug recipes” as far back as when I was a kid. My mom taught me how to make scrambled eggs in a mug as well as all kinds of other stuff. So, these aren’t exactly new, but now McCormick’s has perfected the recipes (see McCormick’s.com). Oh, and the McCormick’s extracts and spices make the flavors just POP!
As a mom I understand why mug treats are so awesome and I bet you do as well. As kids age they want to start cooking and becoming more independent, but when they’re 1st in the kitchen moms are terrified of burns and fire etc. Well, these recipes go in the microwave so I just feel so much more safe letting them start in the kitchen with these treats. I guess my mom must have felt the same way too which is probably why she taught me how to scramble eggs in a mug.
Below are the instructions for the Fudgy Mug Brownies with Raspberry. I also absolutely LOVE the Candy Bar Mug Blondie made with your favorite candy bar. Just head over to the McCormick.com site and you can find all of these great “customizeable” hand held desserts.
Ingredients:
- 3 tablespoons miniature chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 teaspoon milk
- 3/4 teaspoon McCormick® Raspberry Extract
Directions
- Microwave chocolate chips and butter in microwavable coffee mug on HIGH 30 seconds or until melted. Stir. Add remaining ingredients; mix well.
- Microwave on HIGH 45 seconds to 1 minute or until center looks almost set. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
Thanks for the recipe McCormick! My parents were always big McCormick spice and extract fans. I still remember my dad (bless his soul) showing me his annual shareholders SCENTED report from McCormick. I loved it then and I love it now.
