Uses for Hydrogen Peroxide – Hydrogen Peroxide is a chemical compound and the formula looks like H2O2. Some people jokingly say that it’s water with just an extra O, however this is far from the truth, in fact Hydrogen Peroxide at it’s most concentrated will explode if boiled and can cause chemical burns if it comes into contact with bare skin. Therefore when working with hydrogen peroxide you will want to use a dilute solution like what you commonly find in your local stores or online. A typical household grade is 3% to 6% hydrogen peroxide. While stronger formulas are used in the medical profession and also in professional salons, you can do most of what you would want to use it for at home with the normal solutions found on the shelf. Please note that even diluted hydrogen peroxide is still a powerful bleaching agent and could still cause a chemical burn on skin, so always exercise caution and wear gloves when working with it.
