I have had the best time driving this 2016 Hyundai Elantra. This is an inexpensive car that is a fabulous value for the money! It’s hard to find a car these days that is affordable with payments and still a descent value for a family but I think the Hyundai merged all of those things together in the Elantra.
I drive about 45 minutes to 1 hour away each week to visit with my elderly mother. She misses the kids and loves me to pick her up and take her out to lunch.
Well, in our travels to Grandma’s house we have to navigate the Chesapeake Bay Bridge so it’s the perfect place to see how the Elantra handles with highway driving and a little bit of wind over the bay. Was I impressed – Yup, absolutely! My kids thought the sun roof option was the coolest thing since they mixed peanut butter and jelly all in one jar, really! Love the roof top wind and the sky was just perfect. (See me poking my arm out of the top? Go me!!!)
A few other “mom features” I was impressed with were the 5 star front driver crash rating for front and rear (safety for your loved ones is ALWAYS a big deal to a mom), the ipod-USB Auxiliary with the jack, and the heated front seats (which are standard with the Elantra Value Edition!) . Oh, and I can’t forget the sticker price too! This is probably the only new car that you can buy that won’t leave you with sticker SHOCK at an amazing price of $22,390.00. That is really not bad for a brand new family car that get fabulous gas mileage at up to 38 miles per gallon on the highway, and has a warranty of better than many, many new cars on the market today (5yr/50,000 miles, 10 yr/100,00 Powertrain)
Lets not forget the trunk space, which is super important to a family. See my Walmart haul? It all fit nicely in the back. That was a relief, I hadn’t made use of the trunk yet but it was perfect.
All in all, I’d say this Elantra is an excellent value for a family looking for a car with great gas mileage, room enough for groceries and kids, with a few nice perks like the sun roof and heated seats, but that doesn’t break the bank. Good job with this one Hyundai!
