Looking for some easy trunk or treat ideas? Trunk or Treat is a newish concept that has come about when various groups wanted to celebrate trick or treating in a safe environment where they only treats you’re getting for your kids are ones coming from a safe person. Plus it’s a great way to get smaller children out for treating without it being late, dark and too scary! Recently we participated in a Trunk or Treat that was really fun!! What made this different than the normal Trunk or Treat? It was more than just the kids going car to car getting candy, although that was part of it. We found a nice big, but not busy parking lot, where we could group the cars together in one area, but also have an area where we set up 5 different game stations.
The first station was a corn hole game, the kids split out into teams and played against each other! The winners got a full sized candy bar.
The second station was a popcorn race, the kids were again split into teams and had to relay the popcorn down the line the first team to empty the bowl at one end and fill the bowl at the other end won. Again the winners got full sized candy bars.
The third station was ghost sack races, this was just pillow cases with ghost faces drawn on them. The winner was given a candy corn necklace.
The fourth and final station was a mummy making contest. Kids split into teams and 1 grown up volunteer. Using toilet paper each group had 3 minutes to turn the grownup into the best mummy they could! The winning team got pencils, erasers and bubbles. The grown up got their picture taken LOL.
Also before we did the treating we also did trunk judging and a certificate was given out for the most creative, spookiest and funniest trunks! Next we had all the kids line up and do a parade three adults were chosen to be judges and certificates were given out for scariest costume, most original, cutest, and best group costumes. I loved this trunk or treat because I felt like it was a little more involved and I didn’t waste my time decorating and planning my trunk just to have the kids run car to car and have the event over 5 minutes later. It had a fun friendly atmosphere and the kids left feeling like they had been to a party!
Happy Trunk or Treating!
