5 Reasons Why Toronto is on My Bucket List
Travel is an important part of life for my family! It’s a time where we share experiences and have a chance to get away from “things.” Things are great but when you look back at life I believe that it’s the experiences that you remember. I always say that buying one more “thing” will never complete you but taking a trip will always help you find what you were seeking. When we travel and day trip around we experience new things: new customs, new culture, new language, new sites, new food, and best of all new fun. These experiences enrich my family by getting them out of the house, opening their eyes to the world around them, and expand their view point so that they know at a very deep level all things are possible.
Well, Toronto has been on my bucket list for years. It’s considered a “sister city” to the United States since we share a common boarder, and it’s so close to the Mid-Atlantic region where we live. I was fortune enough to attend an event last week at the Canadian Embassy in Washington DC to learn more about Ontario and I’ve now moved Toronto up from being on my bucket list to actively planning a trip! We are so excited!
And so, I’d like to share with you the 5 Reasons Why Toronto is on My Bucket List:
- CN Tower – This sight is an iconic landmark symbol of the beauty of Toronto and defines the skyline for the area. Best of all, you can enjoy a delicious meal in the restaurant and take in the dining experience while peering over the vast beautiful city. My family has never had an experience like this and so, seeing this beautiful place has taken the number 1 spot on my bucket list. I’m ready to make reservations! There’s a light show beginning at dusk that I’m told is a must see event!
- Eaton Center of Toronto – This giant shopping mall that expands multiple city blocks in downtown Toronto is a shoppers DREAM! The mall has free public wifi, a special shopping app, and every store you can imagine! Shopping at the Eaton Center is an “experience” in and of itself……. Add some delicious food while shopping and that’s my kinda day!
- Niagara Falls – There’s no one left in the world that hasn’t heard of Niagara Falls! It’s supposed to be such an amazing experience! To see the beauty of mother nature is exactly the reason why Niagara Falls made it to my list of top 5 reasons why I want to spend a week in Toronto. Niagara falls is a short day trip of just 90 minutes from downtown Toronto. I want to feel the water spray on my face and hear the sounds of the water cascading over the fall.
- The Toronto Zoo – This zoo is world famous and known for their strong conservation efforts like their Arctic Ambassador Program, Adopt a Pond, and Turtle Island Conservation just to name a few. That along with the “Zoo Babies” exhibit (with the panda, rhino, polar bear and lions) makes this a must see when in Toronto!
- Casa Loma – I’d heard about this place for years and have always wanted to visit! It’s a Gothic style-Medieval castle. It was built back in the early 1900’s and is famous for many movies like Goosebumps, The Pacifier, and Strange Brew. You can tour the castle and enjoy the grounds while in Toronto. Casa Loma has fabulous reviews and I just can’t wait to walk the halls with my family!
