Walt Disney World Vacation Club for Sale – Walt Disney World is a popular family friendly vacation spot and one that my family and I enjoy visiting often. To make the most of our money there, we belong to the Walt Disney World Vacation Club and have had a wonderful experience for over ten years. We have enjoyed using our membership and I am so pleased with the opportunities for memories year after year. Club members buy points and we can use those points for a Walt Disney World vacation, for a Disney Cruises (we’ve done that twice now!!) or swap them for other resorts all over the world. What’s not to love! There are plenty of perks as a member and our family takes advantage of as many as we can. I know the Walt Disney World Vacation Club is right for my family, but how do you know if it will be right for yours? Well first, a little research needs to be done and I am the lady who can do some of that for you! Let’s take a look at what, exactly, the Walt Disney World Vacation Club is all about by going over the pros and the cons to see if it’s right for your family.
PROS:
As a Vacation Club member, your family will save on Disney owned resorts, enjoy access to Disney locations and experience members only privileges and events. You will get discounts on shopping, relaxation opportunities and invitations to recreational activities. Your membership will NOT lock you in to certain resorts, times of year to travel or lengths of stay. You will have flexibility to manage your vacation so that it’s perfect for your family, just the way you want. You’ll buy into your “home” resort and you can book that Disney Resort up to 11 months prior to your vacation departure. You also have the option to book resorts, as mentioned above, all over the world thru the RCI exchange program and you can do that up to 2 years in advance!
CONS:
You can book your “home resort” that you buy into 11 months out however other Disney Resorts that are not your home resort may only be booked 7 months in advance. What we wind up doing is booking our home resort 11 months out and getting on a wait list if we’d like to experience another resort. For instance, I really wanted the Animal Kingdom resort with the Savanna View so we had to go on a wait list. We did wind up gettting into Animal Kingdom and it was a great trip that year but it’s something you should take note of which is why I added it to the “cons” list.
PROS:
Walt Disney World Vacation Club really is a flexible timeshare that can be a more effective way to take a Disney vacation. You can customize your membership based on your home resort, but you can always stay at other Disney Resorts as well. There is an online calculator to help you figure out your costs based on where you want to vacation. There is also a point system that you use to reserve your vacation accommodations. You use these points when you are choosing which resort to book, the length of your stay and the type of room you want. Points are easily accrued and you will find this point system easy to use and very helpful. You can even save a year’s points for next year’s travel or borrow from next year’s travel points for this year! It’s super flexible! For instance, say you want to take a 7 day Disney cruise, well you can save 2 years worth of points to make that happen if you don’t currently have enough points.
CONS:
The Disney Cruise is superior to all other lines on the ocean however with that superiority comes a hefty price for 5 star accommodations, food and service. It’s not uncommon to have to save 2 years, all of your Disney Vacation Points, to be able to have enough to go on a week long cruise. You can however, more easily, trade for a shorter 3 or 4 or 5 day cruise.
Walt Disney World Vacation Club offers guided tours to get you started on your quest for membership information, but you can also learn more about the Vacation Club during your stay at a Disney Resort or while you are on a Disney Cruise. There’s absolutely no high pressure sales. If you don’t see the value in the Vacation Club then it’s definitely not for you. If you want more information before you speak to someone, you can send for a free DVD or stream information so you are prepared when you do begin your tour. Disney works with your schedule so when you are ready, so are they! They provide transportation and they even have a supervised play area to keep the kids busy while you learn about what the Walt Disney World Vacation Club has to offer. You’ll find your tour fits your personal style and you will visit villas and talk about what financing is available to Club members.
CONS:
No cons there – Disney is great about information and no pressure sales!
PROS:
We have had so much fun as a family at Disney. We purchased the Disney Vacation Club when my 3rd son was around 2-3ish. We have never regretted the memories we made! The extra experiences and opportunities available to our family through the Vacation Club just add to the magic. Get pampered at a spa, enjoy a special fireworks cruise, participate in a fishing tournament or take a members only tour. You can also enjoy special members only hours at the parks! There are so many awesome magical offers to enjoy that you will want to do them all!
Many people hear Disney Vacation Club and think “Do I really wanna go to Disney every year for the rest of my life?” but with the Walt Disney World Vacation Club you do get access to resorts world-wide for you and your family to enjoy (remember that 2 year booking window I mentioned above?)! Not just Walt Disney World or Disneyland, but villas and resorts at the beach, in the mountains and everywhere in between. We’ve stayed a week in the mountains in West Virginia, and last summer, a week in Williamsburg.
CONS:
When you transfer your points to anything, any resort, outside of the Disney Vacation Club owned network, like to RCI, you pay a $95 transfer fee.
PROS:
You will always get world class Disney service and you can have a personal experience drawn up just for you and your family that will allow you to experience the kind of vacation you’ve only dreamed of in the past. Now it’s all right here, ready for you to take advantage of!
Walt Disney World Vacation Club members like my family are always satisfied knowing that our vacations are going to be wonderful, relaxing and fun; just what vacations are supposed to be! Manage your Vacation Club points to make each year more special than the year before. Explore Disney World, Disney Cruises or Disney owned resorts throughout the world. There are many destinations to choose from and you won’t regret your Walt Disney World Vacation Club membership. All in all, we would do it again and know it was a good decision for our family!
