Did you know that January 29th was National Plan for Vacation Day? I learned that 52% of folks fail to take their allotted time off of work each year! Wow – that is astounding! My husband used to be in management for 20 years and I must admit that he too, failed to take advantage of all of his allotted time off of work each year. Then, about 12 years ago, his father passed only 33 days after being diagnosed with cancer and ever since that life changing event we have never failed to take a vacation as a family again. My husband saw all of the things his father was planning to do that he never got around to and then with his untimely death we learned a very big lesson….. life doesn’t wait and neither should you!
I hope my kids remember the road trips, the camping trips and the once in a while airline trips! Every year we find a new adventure and spend time as a family! It’s not too late to book your next trip!
Use #PlanForVacation on social media to find resources and start planning your trip. Statistics show that those families that plan trips in advance are more likely to follow thru, use their vacation and enjoy their family. Check out my video on our trip to the Outer Banks (just a short drive from the Mid-Atlantic region).
Next on my bucket list….? A Dude Ranch! I found the Association of Dude Ranches and with my daughter and her love of horses and the countryside…. well? Lets just say that bucket list item might be coming up sooner than you think!
