Washington DC is blooming with color as the cherry blossoms around the tidal basin blast into peak bloom on April 1st. If you haven’t seen this spectacular display in the Nations Capital it’s time you made the trip! This is the perfect weekend getaway and the weather is getting warmer and warmer as Spring brings on additional day light with each new dawn. Even better are the new spring offerings by my favorite family resort in the DC metro area – Gaylord National!
Starting NOW, Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center is celebrating with 6 weeks of spring-focused activities called Bloom. The new offerings are the perfect complement to National Harbor and cherry blossoms in downtown Washington DC.
Through April 28, visitors at the resort can experience more than 200 spring flowers added to the resort’s already blooming 19-story garden atrium including tulips, lilies and daffodils, as well as 6.5 foot pop-up flower displays, special room rates, complimentary kid activities for overnight guests on Saturdays including a flower trail scavenger hunt, cupcake decorating and a plant-your-own-flower activity from 3 to 5 p.m. Oh….. can’t forget my favorite…. Kids also will get the opportunity to meet everyone’s favorite hopping egg-lover, the Easter Bunny, in the resort’s lobby on Sunday mornings through Easter!
In addition to all of this fun family adventure they’re also featuring specialties for moms and parents with a fun mixology class where you’ll lean how to craft Spring inspired cocktails using fresh garden ingredients. Plus, if you’re in need of a little TLC and relaxation, the Relâche Spa is offering special spa experiences with some amazing packages to rejuvenate and revive you.
I know you’ve seen my personalized images of the ICE! experience during the holidays but Gaylord has so much to offer during other seasons as well….
