Top 7 Rides to Ride at Busch Gardens Williamsburg this Spring & Summer! -Although the bouncing of the temperatures may not show it, summer is just around the corner. We only have about a month and a half before all the kids are out for summer break! As summer break approaches, I am planning our summer activities, and on our list, as usual, is Busch Gardens Williamsburg.
This year, though, the kids are all tall enough to ride anything they want, and with that, we plan on hopping on some new rides as well as some old favorites.
If you haven’t been to Busch Gardens Williamsburg, here are the top 7 rides to ride this Spring & Summer!
- Finnegan’s Flyer: Opening May 3rd, this new ride is our first quest. Reaching a staggering 80 feet high with a speed of 45 MPH you will swing progressively higher over the cliffs of the Celtic Coast with each swing. We can’t wait!
- Verbolten: Ranked as one of the best rollercoasters in the world, the Verbolton is Zierer multi-launching steel roller coaster you won’t want to miss this summer.
- Loch Ness Monster: With a helix tunnel, two lift hills, and a 114-foot drop, you are in for a terrifying thrill riding the Loch Ness Monster. Although it isn’t the tallest in the world anymore, it is still pretty magnificent.
- Cutback Water Coaster: What is summer without a little bit of water?! This 850-foot slide coaster will jet you through tunnels and slide you into wide-open space of saucer shaped features as it whips you through this wild ride. You’ll find this thrill ride at Water Country USA (the sister water park to Busch Gardens Williamsburg)
- Tempesto: This coaster is not for the faint of heart. As you race through tight turns at 63 miles per hour and defy gravity while rolling through a complete inversion 154 feet in the air, remember, it’s just a ride.
- Mach Tower: This is an old favorite, but definitely not one that should be forgotten. After spiraling up the 240 foot tower, you will have about .5 seconds to take in the view before you plummet down at breathtaking speeds.
- Roman Rapids: Coasters aren’t the only wild rides at the park. This six passenger raft will have you racing along the currents, dodging drenching waterfalls, and learning a whole different definition to the word “Roman Bath.
