>Penguins Disney Movie Review – If you can’t tell by now, we are huge Disney fans in this family! From going to Walt Disney theme parks and Disney on Ice to watching every Disney movie that comes out, we just can’t get enough. Recently, we had the privilege of seeing the newest Disney movie: Penguins. Penguins is a documentary with a beautiful story-line.
In this movie, an Adelie penguin named Steve embarks on a journey to build a suitable nest, find a life partner, and start a family. Much like the life of real penguins, this doesn’t not come easy for him. Steve is targeted by everything from killer whales to leopard seals which threaten a happily ever after ending for Steve.
Here’s what we loved about it:
It’s Realistic
Although Disney put a storyline to this documentary, they keep it realistic to the true life of the Adelie Penguins as well as other animals in the Antarctic. I thought it had a very good portrayal of a year in the life of an adult Adelie Penguin. For instance, they do have to go through sudden storms, sea ice, and many predators on their journey to happiness.
The Narrator Makes it Fun for Kids
As a mom, I really love when I can get my kids watching something educational. However, real documentaries can be dull, dry, and boring for kids to watch. I love how the narrator of the movie made the life of a penguin interesting, funny, cute, and educational. My kids loved it even my older ones.
The Visuals are Stunning
Did you know it took 16 cinematographers over three years to capture the stunning images on view?! The results? Jaw-dropping! Whether you are watching the penguins swim and dive with synchronized precision or the escape of a predator attack, you feel like you are almost there, too!
From the jaw-dropping views to the funny educational narration, Penguins is a movie I would suggest anyone see. Whether young or old, if you like penguins, you will love Disney’s new movie!
Have you seen the movie? What did you think?
