Making Memories for the Believe in Tomorrow Children’s Foundation 8th Annual Scunny Elvis Open
We see it everyday on TV, in social media, and around our community …little ones suffering while families are devastated and unable to be by their child’s bed. The Believe in Tomorrow Children’s Foundation provides hospital and respite housing services to critically ill children. Their goal is to keep families together and close to their loved one.
However, as Brian Morrison, President of the foundation will tell you, money is something they rely on to make it possible to provide these services. That’s why each year, there is a Scunny Elvis Open at the Woodlands Golf course to benefit the programs for Believe in Tomorrow Children’s Foundation.
What is the Scunny Elvis Open? After an amazing heart-felt interview with the Mr. Morrison I have all of the answers.
Every year, in support of the Believe in Tomorrow Children’s Foundation, male golfers channel their feminine side and dress in drag. They don dresses, wigs, and tiaras that represent their favorite female lead from the Elvis Presley movies. From Anne Margaret and Barbara Eden to Juliet Prowse, you will see it all. Female players also get in on the action and dress like Elvis from various stages of his life. You will see about 250 golfers get into this fun.
What happens at the dinner after the golf event? Brian says that’s where the real fun comes in…. the coveted “best dressed” award is highly sought after and the award is given out at the dinner where you’ll find food generously donated for the fundraiser. “You see Scunny was larger than life” and dressing up and giving everyone a good laugh and fun for the day is a great way to honor his memory and charitable giving. “There’s just no better laugh than having a man that is 6’4″ show up for a round of golf in go go boots dressed like Anne Margaret.”
Not everyone likes golf, but when you get to see all the fun costumes, it’s sure to be a memory you won’t forget.
What Else is Happening?
In addition to a golf tournament, there will be a costume contest (best dressed award), dinner, and lunch! So, you definitely get more than just a golf experience.

You may play, dress up, and eat for $175 per person. Or, you can get into a group of four and pay $700. Of course additional donations are accepted and appreciated.
