Manayunk on Ice: Ice Carving Competition on February 11 – 13th In the Shopping, Dining & Service destination of Manayunk (Philadelphia, PA) Fri 5 -8 Sat. 11 – 3 & Sun. noon – 3. This is what it says:

The first annual “Manayunk On Ice” winter festival will showcase the artistry of such National Ice Carving Association stars as Don Rebholz, Kevin Roscoe, Vivatt Hong Pong, Philadelphia’s own Dan Lowing, and Peter Slavin, who also is serving as a consultant for the “Manayunk On Ice” festival. In addition to the cash prize ice carving competition and sculptor invitational, “Manayunk On Ice” will transform Philadelphia’s historic Manayunk community into a winter wonderland, with ice sculptures carved and positioned outside many of Manayunk’s 200-plus shops, bars and restaurants; a kick-off community bon fire in ice on Friday, February 11th; and many dinner, drinks and shopping specials throughout the festival.

Animal Open House @ Briar Bush Nature Center on Feb. 12 from 10 – 11 am in Abington, PA. This is what they say:

Briar Bush’s museum is home to over 30 animals, including rabbits and rats, skinks and snakes, chinchillas and tarantulas. Come learn about the animals, and even give them a pat!

Valentine Hands-On Activities @ Wheaton Arts & Cultural Center in Millville, NJ on Feb. 12 – 13 from 11 – 4. This is what is happening:

Enjoy “Chocolate Dipping” in the General Store. Make a “Tissue Paper Flower” in the Brownstone Emporium. “Make Your Own” Valentine card and flower ring in The Gallery of Fine Craft.

LakeShore Learning– On Saturday February 12th from 11-3 LakeShore will have their FREE craft clinic, this week the kids will be making Valentines Day Bouquet..Surprise Mom & Dad or anyone you Love with a pretty homemade flower bouquet designed by you!!

Host Parties for FREE and get FREE goodies. Two of the next host parties are the Johnsonville Italian & DiGiorno Pizza & Hoops House Party. Go the the link to get more information but you have a party featuring the companies product. They send you all the food and supplies you will need to have the party – FREE. They will also send you goodies for being the host!! It sounds like a lot of fun.. FREE

The Kennedy Center Go to The Kennedy Center link to see what FREE shows are being offered at The Millennium Stage starting at 6 pm each night!  The Kennedy Center is so beautiful inside!  You should expect to arrive 1 hour early to get in line in order to get seats for your family.  There is an adjoining parking garage but it is not free.

Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament. Maggie recently went there as shown in this post. If you go and look at this post from Maggie she will tell you how you can go and save money with a special code. Also Medieval Times offers a FREE ticket for the “Birthday boy or girl” so keep that in mind if you are thinking of celebrating soon. (must show proof of birth date)  This event is not free like most others listed, but it is greatly discounted.

The Blockbuster Kiosk is offering a FREE movie rental until . Use code MRC37H. This code is good till the end of February. It will make for a Great weekend at home night I haven’t tried this code myself yet so let me know.

Visit your local LEGO Store on the first Tuesday of every month and you can learn how to build a cool mini model, and take it home – for FREE! Quantities are limited and offer is good while supplies last only. A new model will be available every month and will be specially themed to that month – ask a Store Associate for details! Models are not for sale and cannot be purchased. One free per child. Event is open to children ages 6 to 14 only. See store for more details. Arrive 1 hour to 1.5 hours early.
