Fun Gifts for Kids: Stomp Rocket
It seems like it gets harder and harder to find good appropriate gifts for kids these days. Especially for moms like me that are more interested in experiences than “things” and outdoor adventures verses indoor gifts. Years ago, when I was in college, I remember a study that my professor shared with us. It was one of those tidbits of information that just kind of sticks with you and you never forget. He asked us a question and we had to take a vote. The question was, “Do adults recall more memories from childhood from the indoors or outdoors?” Well, we gathered in groups and discussed and pondered for 20 minutes before we had to vote…. We thought surely the answer must be indoors because kids spend more time inside their homes (think eating and sleeping and doing homework) than outside, right? [Read more…]

Back to School Shopping Favorites with Amazon
For kids, the back to school season isn’t really unlike Christmas eve or New Year’s Eve. It’s full of anxious feelings, excitement, wonder, amazement and adventure! Think about it! Kids get new books, backpacks, supplies and new clothes for returning to school each Fall season and it’s exciting for parents to pull it all together. Just like New Year’s Eve it’s a time to reboot, refresh and prep for a new year. After all your baby is one year older and it’s crazy to think of the growth and progress and maturing that happen from year to year all throughout childhood. I know we’ve all happily moved into online shopping (just a little bit more with each season) because of the convenience factor and the time saving factor so I’m sure this year will be no different except that I’m probably going to do ALL of my back to school supply shopping online! [Read more…]
Best Non-Toxic Tick Repellent
With all of the chemicals in the world today, as a mom I try my best to be very aware of the ingredients in lotions and insect repellents that touch the skin of my kiddos. I want protection plus peace of mind that I’ve done all I could. My teen son was diagnosed with Lymes Disease at about 4 years old. There was no “bulls-eye” like you read in magazines and it was incredibly difficult to know he needed help at such a young age. [Read more…]

New Fun DROODLES Compendium Book
My son graduated this Spring and one of the gifts we gave to him was this totally fun book based on the zany fad back in the 1950’s called The Ultimate Droodles Compendium. Comedian Roger Price (also known for the Mad Libs) came up with the most fun way to get seriously hysterically funny and sarcasticly creative with Droodles which are simple drawings that turn into funny recreations. This new book features over 350 Droodles that you’ll find wickedly amusing and some you may even find yourself laughing out loud and sharing around a table!
This book is the ONLY full retrospective of Price and his creations. The delight in Droodles is that there’s something funny in them for young and old. Anyone can do them and have fun!
The Ultimate Droodles Compendium is available where books are sold including your local Amazon! Have fun and get creative this summer!
