Back to School Tips for a Horrible Year – I know the web is full of back to school tips to get the year off right (and I’ve posted some myself) so I figured it was time for some good old HUMOR so now it’s time to read about back to school tips for a horrible year! ☺ It’ll keep you laughing I promise! After all – laughter is medicine to the soul!
Sure you can find lots of resources on how to prepare for a wonderful year ahead. But you’ll search and search for ways to do it all wrong. Look no further! Read on for some back-to-school tips for a disastrous year.
- Leave all planning until the last few days before school.
I don’t know about you, but nothing makes me more productive than the last minute. This way I don’t have to feel so responsible for all the mistakes I’ll make. We can figure it out after the kids are in school for a few weeks. And I find that teachers LOVE that laid-back approach.
- Sign up for every extra-curricular activity that comes your way.
With no time for homework or family togetherness or even just the margin to stop and take a breath, I’m less accountable for the achievements my kids won’t have. And if the family implodes, we’ll all know why, too – so, no guessing there.
- Always take your child’s side in a dispute.
This requires some effort sometimes but I also try not to immediately respond to calls or requests from teachers for a school conference on poor behavior. It usually just blows over.
- 1) Stay as uninvolved in school activities as possible.
I also try not to learn the teacher’s names or attend regular back-to-school nights. That way I don’t really have to keep track of this year’s math approach, or important events for the calendar. Nothing to write down!
Hope I gave you a good laugh!
- Let your child take the lead on crafting the year ahead.
This is the best tip so far: After all, I’m preparing my kids to be leaders, right? Best to let them figure it all out now. They can always refer to this list later on.
