The best time to shop for Christmas gifts – When is the best time to go shopping for Christmas gifts? Have you ever considered shopping for your Christmas gifts all year long? There are several shopping seasons that offer fabulous deals, great shopping incentives, as well as a broad diversity of merchandise that is available when you shop all year long.
Consider shopping for Christmas after Christmas. Retailers consider the Christmas shopping season to be over between December 25th and December 31st. Because they want to get rid of their inventory as quickly as possible, they offer discounts of up to 70% – 90% or two for one deals and other incentives during this week. Start your shopping for next year after Christmas and benefit from great savings.
Start your New Year off right by shopping in January. Look for retailers who offer annual clearance sales. It’s possible for you to find big discounts and other incredible deals at these clearance sales in the month of January.
What about Christmas in July Or any other month in the summer for that matter? Summer can be the best time of year to find Christmas gifts because of a high number of sales available. Don’t let the time factor between the summer and winter deter you from taking advantage of the high number of sales available to summer shoppers.
Don’t forget when the leaves fall, prices fall. Look for summer’s end clearance sales of 75% to 90% off. Fall sale items make lovely Christmas presents or, stock up on summer gardening packages likes seeds (they last 3 years) watering cans, garden gloves etc – They make lovely Christmas gift. After all, spring is the next season after winter!
One of the busiest shopping times for Christmas is Black Friday. In spite of the large crowds, long lines, and possibly wild shoppers, Black Friday shopping can be worth it. With sales and deals almost too good to be true, the shopper can save hundreds of dollars on a single item and find tons of bargains on basic household appliances and other goods like sheets etc. Don’t forget Black Friday shopping actually starts Thanksgiving night. Most stores are set to open at 6pm on Thanksgiving night.
The newest shopping season follows immediately after Black Friday. Post Thanksgiving sales, Cyber Monday, and the following one to two weeks offer exceptional sales for shoppers because retailers want to sell the inventory left from Black Friday and stock up on new merchandise.
There are shoppers who shop for presents and other merchandise the last minute before Christmas for a good reason. In spite of massive crowds and other inconveniences, there are last minute sales to be found. Especially if you shop on December 23rd or December 24th when major retailers across the country offer their incredible last minute sales and deals.
Whether you shop any or all of the shopping seasons available, make sure you start with your Christmas list: who are you shopping for and what kind of things do they like. Then, you can create a strategy based on the shopping opportunities that match your shopping list. (For example – grandma likes to garden so you’d shop for her in September or October searching for end of season summer clearance).
My favorite time to shop is after a season when I can snag all those great clearance items. I’ll pick up coats for next year in March (if kids are growing just buy 1 size up), I’ll grab summer clearance in September or October, and winter outdoor play equipment in March and April.
Each shopping season has its unique advantages that makes it the best time of year for your Christmas shopping. ☺
