Gotta love Colgate-Palmolive and their dedication to children’s oral health! It always gives me a warm feeling to see corporations give back to communities and children. We have the hardest time at our house with keeping up with baby teeth – they can rot out in just three month and so the need for regular checks ups during the baby teeth years is enormous! Well the Colgate-Polmolive Bright Smiles, Bright Futures® Mobile Dental Van is coming to the Baltimore area to offer FREE oral health education and free dental screenings to children in Kindergarten through Grade 3. The event will have youth activities for the kids, interactive workstations and celebrity appearances. The rest of the details from the press release are below;

Why:
Poor oral health at an early age can impact school performance, social skills and self-esteem. Today, tooth decay is the most common chronic childhood disease among 5 to 17 year olds, more common than asthma or hay fever. As a result, more than 51 million school hours are lost each year in the U.S. due to dental related illness.
Colgate-Palmolive, a global leader in oral care, has reached more than 165 million children in the United States with oral health education and screenings as part of its flagship program, Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures®.
For the first time, Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures®is officially expanding its focus in Baltimorewith a brand new mobile dental van, staffed with program coordinators and local volunteer dental professionals. The van will run 6 days per week through partnerships with local schools, churches, and community events. Children at Henderson-Hopkins School will be among the first in the Baltimore area to enjoy this fun and engaging program that continues to empower children to take control of their smiles by practicing proper brushing routines.
