Last month my family had their very 1st build a Bear Workshop experience and I want to tell you all about it in my Build a Bear Workshop photo review.
My kids had no idea what to expect because we’d never even gone into a Build a Bear store before, but I have to tell you that I’m hooked and so are the kids. ☺
You 1st pick out a stuffed animal (tough decision with the huge selection too!). There are so many to pick for girls or boys and every color and shape you can image. My daughter, age 4, decided to go with Rainbow My Little Pony and my son decided to make a bear and donate it for a family in need for Christmas. Really touched my heart!
After you make your choice there are so many things to do. You can even choose a sound for your bear – like music! So many fun choices to make that day!
Now for the stuffing part. That was really neat.
You just pop your new pet onto the port and fill it with stuffing.
Then, you can start dressing your bear and picking out all sorts of things like hats, shoes, panties…. pretty much everything and anything. ☺
Time to wash – My daughter loved this part. Everything you do is so personalized and just makes you fall in love with your personal pet. I love the whole experience. With a 4 year old daughter we’ve had many stuffed animals over the years but none that we so personalized as to have her feel that is was hers. It was so adorable. She’s been carrying it around for the last 3 weeks. So cute!
Off to make the Birth Certificates for our new friends. Since my son’s bear was donated we wrote a nice message on it. This is another part of the wonderful personalization of the bear. Really, a Build a Bear workshop isn’t just about getting a stuffed animal – it’s an experience. Isn’t that what the best moments in life are made of – experiences? Those are the things that we remember.
We also had the awesome experience of hearing about a mom with terminal cancer and a dad being deployed, bulding bears for their children and singing songs or reading books and recording it for their bears. Wow…. Build a Bear is so many things to so many people. I just love all of the personal touches.
Thanks Build a Bear! You’re the best!

Keep a look out for promo emails if you sign up for their email club. A few times every year, when you go in and make a purchase over $15, you can buy a $10 gift card for only $5, and you can get one for each $15 you spend. I bought Christmas gifts, spent over $50, and managed to snag an additional $30 in gift cards to use later, for only $15.
They also, occasionally do promotions on the site Zulily.com. They just had one today where you could buy a $30 voucher for only $15. Right now it’s sold out, but they may ‘re-stock’ it in the next day or so.
