Candy Canes Christmas Gift Ideas – I love making things with candy canes each year and every year we seem to get a little more creative. We had to stop hanging candy canes on the Christmas tree because the dog was eating them but I’m thinking that these candy cane sleighs are even BETTER! They’re creative and fun and best of all, I can make them with my sweet daughter who enjoys all things Christmas and especially when we’re thinking of homemade Christmas gift ideas to make!
You can make all sorts of things from candy canes. Christmas gift ideas are thought about all year long because making personalized Christmas gifts has become a tradition in our home. My daughter loves to be creative and so, it has become a tradition and the rest is history! These Candy Canes gift are also great for a place setting at the dinner table. They’re colorful, fun and make for a great talking point since they’re clearly homemade.
Materials needed for your Candy Cane Sleigh:
- 2 Candy Canes
- 1 Kit Kat
- Bag of Hershey’s Mini Chocolate bars (the Christmas pack is most colorful with silver, green, and reds in the packaging)
- a small touch of hot glue
- Ribbon (bow at the top is optional)
Directions:
Start by heating up your hot glue fun and adding a short quick line of hot glue on your WRAPPED candy cane. Quickly add your Kit Kat bar to the hot glue. Repeat with another candy candy and glue it the the Kit Kat bar.
This will be the bottom of your candy cane sled.
Place your Kit Kat Bar face up on a flat surface and add 4 Hershey’s mini Candy bars to the bottom level, 3 on the next level up, then 2, then 1 at the very top.
Now wrap your pile firmly with your curling ribbon.
Add ribbon and a bow and you have the perfect candy cane gift! My daughter was 6 years old in this picture and this was an easy activity that she could handle.
Be sure to check out some of our other creations like her Pine Cone Fire Starters. She made these when she was just 5 years old and they were a huge hit with her aunts, uncles and grandparents. We collected the pine cone from our yard and free from a state park to make these simple and easy homemade Christmas gifts!
