Candy Canes Christmas Gift Ideas – Mints anyone? Check out these neat Christmas gifts that my daughter made with Altoids!!!! These were such a huge hit. 1st of all who doesn’t love a sweet homemade Christmas present from a 6 year old, right? Well then add that most people love the natural taste of Altoids and peppermint over the holidays and these candy cane Christmas gifts become the perfect homemade present.
These are so fun and full of color that you can even dress up for holiday table by adding them to the dinner place as a little fun take home gift just like we did. These are relatively inexpensive too, as well as practical. Lots of people like to keep mints in their glove box or purse so you can bet this won’t be a gift that will sit on a shelf.
Materials needed for your Candy Cane Sleigh:
- 2 Candy Canes
- 1 regular size Altoid tin
- 2 mini size Altoid tins
- 1 Package Candy Canes
- a small touch of hot glue
- Ribbon (bow at the top is optional)
Directions:
Add a small line of glue to your candy cane and immediately place on your regular size tin of Altoids. Next, ad a small line of glue (your candy candy cane should still have the wrapper on) to your other candy candy and glue to the other side of your Altoids making the base for the sled.
Allow to dry briefly. Next add your 2 smaller cans then one final tin on the very top (so 3 layers high).
These are so simple that my 6 year old could easily make them!
Enjoy – makes a beautiful table setting & the perfect take home homemade present!
