10 Reasons to Stop & Smell the Roses
My husband called me from work this morning just to say “hi!” After being cordial he started to tell me a story about opening a can of stain this morning and how it transformed him back to the days of working on his grandparents farm and staining the old wood on the barn. He spoke fondly of the memories and he said he then began to work and think about all of the other “smells” that can take you back to another place and time in the snap of a finger…… It’s true, our olfactory senses trigger memories good and bad but how many of us take time to experience life today?
We are a society that has become so busy that we forget to stop and smell the roses and how their sweet sent rejuvenates and refreshes us. Here are my 10 Reasons to STOP & Smell the Roses: [Read more…]

RSVP – A Lost Courtesy!
R.S.V.P. stands for a French phrase which means “répondez, s’il vous plaît,” which in English means “please reply.” That means that the person sending the invitation to you would like you to tell him or her whether you accept or decline the invitation so they can plan accordingly (food, party favors, etc). That is, will you be coming to the event or not?
Guess what? This is necessary so the invitee can properly PLAN the event, whether it be a wedding, shower, birthday party, etc this person will be spending multiple hours planning, making food or ordering food with a caterer, ribbons on favors, decorations and more.
In today’s busy world Americans have forgotten about just how important is it to calendar an event and RSVP. Try to teach your kids the importance of this lost art. Responding to an RSVP is the right thing to do!
Just a thought for the day. ☺
