Fullest Bright Moon June 23rd Best for Family Sky Viewing
As a home school mom I never miss an opportunity to check out science. Summer Science Fun for Kids
Just in case you didn’t know it, we’re home schoolers. We home school year round and in the summer we like to have a lot of hands on science fun. I’ve ordered praying mantis egg cases, brine shrimp (Sea Monkeys), & butterfly larvae too. Its a great way to keep science in their minds and have fun learning the lifecycle of the butterfly and watching the egg cases & brine shrimp come to life. We’re adding on 1 more thing this summer too – frog eggs. I’ve never collected my own before but we’d like to have my son learn the life cycle of the frog.
The Butterfly larvae are really cheap and so are the praying mantis egg cases. Plus the praying mantis are great at capturing and eating bugs so they’re great for the environment and especially your garden when you release them. Here are the links to purchase your own if you want to have some science fun with your kids this summer too. Keep kids thinking! Oh and by the way, in case you didn’t know, when butterfly 1st come out they are very tame and will sit on your finger. Its really neat! I have some great prices for ‘ya on the praying mantis egg cases and the butterfly kits and caterpillars too! [Read more…]
