I’ve received different e-mails from readers that that are unemployed or are facing lay offs and some readers that have spouses that have  lost their jobs.  1st of all I want to thank so many of you for sharing bargains that you find everywhere – in your local grocery store or Internet etc.  When we all work together we can save so much more!  You can post them in the comments sections in the blog or right on our Facebook wall, or e-mail us through the “contact” button in the top navigational bar.  I’ve also found some offers for discount drug cards.  I’m fortunate enough to have health insurance through my husbands employer but I know many of you are not.  Here are 2 offers that I found.

Every time I give my Extreme Couponing/Frugal Living Seminar I’m amazed at how many readers aren’t taking advantage of Freecycle.org!  It an on line website that is completely FREE and was designed to keep perfectly good usable or recyclable items out of landfills.  Let me tell you a little more about how it works and what a “wanted or offer” post might look like;

Offer: Diapers – my daughter potty trained early and I have a 24 pack of pull ups.  Pick up asap as I’m cleaning out a closet. Arlington area

Offer: Bathroom sink with faucett.  The sink is usable – we have remodeled our bathroom and hate to throw this away since its perfectly usable.  Maybe someone that has wanted to put in a bathroom in their basement or something could use this? Fairfax, VA.

Wanted:  I’m looking for a changing table for my day care.  I live in the DE area and can travel up to 20 miles for pick up.

Now I just made up these posts but I wanted to give you an idea of what you can expect.  You’ll find anything and everything on Freecycle.org.  I picked up a fishing throw net for free for my son and he was so excited about it – He was pricing them the week prior and they were over $30.00!  When you “offer” an item you can place the item on your porch for pick up or you can meet the person for pick up etc – Its up to you how you’d like to handle it.  Freecycle.org is just another way to care for Mother Earth and live a frugal life with giving and receiving!
