Reader Sarah sent an interesting article to me from CNN about the rising price of gas, food and paper products.  This is a subject I’ve discussed before….  There is no way for the average American consumer like you and me to be affected by these rising prices!   You might still be spending the same amount on groceries as you were 6 months to a year ago but you are buying LESS food!   Ahhhh,  I remember the days when a bag of Oreos was 16 ounces and Ritz Crackers and Triscuits were 16 ounces (1 lb).  Not any more.  At first manufacturer’s tried reducing the size of the package instead of increasing the price but we’ve come to a time in the economy that we are now faced with smaller packages AND higher prices.  I don’t know about you,  but I don’t see any end in sight.  Couponing is a way that you can mitigate these increasing expenses.
