I posted this article months ago but with the e-mails I’ve received today I thought it would be appropriate to help newbies understand couponing.

  I used to hate shopping before I discovered couponing but now I find it fun and exciting! (that sounds crazy but it’s true!)  I was on such a tight budget and I was always worried about going over budget and then I’d be too embarrassed to put something (or several things) back…. Now I absolutely LOVE shopping!  I don’t even have to worry about budgeting at the grocery store now because I do such a great job of planning my shop with coupons and stocking up.  I never even come close to the amount I have set aside in my budget for groceries.

        And here is a little tidbit you probably don’t know….  Did you know that stores love coupons?  Yes – they bring in customers to shop and they get $.08 above and beyond the face value of the coupon when they submit the coupons for redemption from the Manufacturer.  They have several months to submit their coupons after their date of expiration. So the more you shop with coupons, the more the stores are making.  Its a win – win for EVERYONE!
