African Adinkre Prints: Family Arts Academy on 2/27 @ The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia, PA. Student & families in the Philadelphia school district is FREE. This is what it says;

Hear the story “The Spider Weaver: A Legend of Kente Cloth” and print Adinkre prints. Adinkre are visual symbols created by the Akan people of West Africa. These symbols are used in their everyday life on clothing, pottery, jewelry and their houses. Instructor: Cari Freno.

LakeShore Learning– On Saturday February 26th from 11-3 LakeShore will have their FREE craft clinic, this week the kids will be making Their Very Own Storybook. Kids create an accordion-style book with colorful collage materials then use it to tell their own special story.

The Kennedy Center Go to The Kennedy Center link to see what FREEshows are being offered at The Millennium Stage starting at 6 pm each night!  The Kennedy Center is so beautiful inside!  You should expect to arrive 1 hour early to get in line in order to get seats for your family.  There is an adjoining parking garage but it is not free. The new schedule is out for March and we’re really excited!  Check it out and give your family a good cultural education!!!

Also Medieval Times offers a FREE ticket for the “Birthday boy or girl” so keep that in mind if you are thinking of celebrating soon. (must show proof of birth date)  This event is not free like most others listed, but it is greatly discounted.

The Blockbuster Kiosk is offering a FREE movie rental until . Use code MRC37H. This code is good until the end of February. It will make for a great weekend at home night! I haven’t tried this code myself yet so let me know.

Can you tell I’m missing the warm weather and thinking ahead today????  Ok – this one is a must to put on your calendar NOW so you don’t miss it!  Pintail Point offers a Youth Day completely FREE to your entire family just once a year.  It starts at 10am and you definitely don’t want to arrive any later than 11am.  You’ll receive free lunch for your children (adults pack your own or bring $ to buy) and some freebies like a T Shirt or cooler or water bottle (its different each year) and the activities all day long are FREE!  They can play mini golf, moon bounce, giant blow up slide, shooting range with clay plates to shoot, police dog demonstrations and tons of door prizes from start to finish!  This is such an awesome fun frugal and completely FREE day for your entire family that I suggest you calendar it NOW and don’t plan anything else during that time.  I promise you’ll have fun and you won’t regret it!  They even have a fishing pond with rods and free bait for the kiddies!  It’s so nice!  Everything takes place rain or shine and almost everything is outside.  Click here for more info.  For my frugal friends that live further away I’d say this event is worth driving 1 hr to 1 hr and 15 minutes to come see!  Its about 20 minutes past the Chesapeake Bay Bridge.
