With technology running everyone’s lives, it’s become all to easy to sit kids in a corner with a smartphone or a tablet filled with fun games and YouTube access instead of taking them fishing, going for a walk, a bike ride, or just watching the sunset. I too used to be a kid getting into everything so I understand that parents have real world things they need to get completed and for that I say there is a place and time for gaming and technology to keep kids busy. I’m sad to say that this is the last circus that you’ll ever see…. the Greatest Show on Earth is coming to an end and this will be their last tour. The good news is that I have 24 tickets to give away and there are still plenty of seats left for you to go with your family!
I had the fun and exciting pleasure to enjoy the Future City finals in Washington DC last week. Our future is in good hands as far as I can see. These kids are planning for the future and the future is looking fabulous with such innovative thinkers.. Future City is a project-based learning program where students around the country in 6th, 7th, and 8th grades use their imagination to research, design, and build cities of the future. This year the finals took place in Washington, DC on February 21, 2017, where students from West Ridge Middle School in Texas (North) won the competition. Way to go kids! [Read more…]
Family Fun Day at Competitive Edge of Woodbridge VA – On February 4th, 2017, Competitive Edge in Woodbridge, Virginia celebrated their first year in business by hosting a free family fun day for all to enjoy. Competitive Edge is a great place to take the family to keep them active, burn some energy and learn healthy habits that will last a lifetime.
We weren’t sure what to get into first when we arrived at the center! There was a golf training station with a virtual screen, Zumba demonstrations, a curve-ball machine to practice our baseball swings and Vertimax assessments to see how high we could jump. When we had worked up an appetite, there were food tastings, food trucks and a nutrition counselor to explain what food choices we could make to keep our bodies and our minds in tip top shape. There was a massage chair to get the kinks out and even a birthday cake to indulge our sweet tooth as we celebrated a successful year in business for Competitive Edge. [Read more…]

The Washington Auto Show is an absolutely amazing car show that provides family friendly fun! There are car driving simulators, all the new cars and trucks you can think of and even exotics and prototypes that haven’t been released on the market yet! Whose ready to see over 600 cars from more than 35 manufacturers at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center!? There will be every car, truck, SUV and exotic you can think of at this amazing show. This is the largest auto show in the Washington D.C area. This show will feature VIP tours and a special exhibit to see the painting of “art” cars. There will even be celebrities and sports personalities.
