Super Bowl Party Tips
Super Bowl Party Foods: Nachos
Nachos are my specialty and I wanted to give you some quick tips on making the best NFL Super Bowl Party Nachos this year! Nachos are on your Super Bowl party menu aren’t they? Check out my before and after photos and my quick video on making a great plate of nachos 😉
Nacho no no’s!
- Never use rounds – you need “restaurant style” nachos to get a nice texture and layered affect
- Never use cheese that comes pre-grated! You must grate your own cheese for freshness, flavor, texture and melting
- Serve any extra dips in a side dish (like guacamole & sour cream) since your guests will likely be divided in their taste
- No canned salsa! Use enchilada sauce or make fresh salsa
- Nachos can be re-heated and served a second time so only make what you’re going to eat!
Tip for easy clean up: Make your nachos on aluminum foil for quick and easy clean up. Remember planning a Super Bowl party also means planning for quick clean up!

Planning a Super Bowl Party
You may be planning a Super Bowl party and thinking of a Super Bowl party menu without spending a fortune on food and decorations for an evening of fun. I think a really easy and reasonable option for your NFL Super Bowl party to watch the Giants and the Patriots battle it out is a home made sandwich party platter. These can run anywhere from $25.00 to $80.00 in a deli for just cheese and lunch meats pleasantly displayed but you can make one for 50% to 60% less and they’re so easy to throw together! You don’t need any specific training or a crafty crew – just a desire to save some cash and a little bit of time to arrange the platter and place some rolls or bread in a nice basket.
Supplies Needed:
Football Fan Platter I LOVE this football themed platter!
Football themed basket for bread/rolls
Triscuit Crackers or Wheat Thins Crackers
lettuce or garnish
grape tomato or cherry tomato for garnish
black & green olives
Preparing:
You can prepare these 1 day in advance and be sure to cover with Glad Cling Plastic Wrap.
Look for lunch meat and cheeses that are on sale or have them sliced thin at the deli counter. You can request at the deli counter that they hand you a slice to you to be sure it rolls nicely. (remember hard cheeses do not roll as nicely as the softer ones)
Garnish your platter with lettuce leaves.
Roll the meat and cheeses, alternating them.
In the center add either mayo or mustard spreads, (use small cups to keep them in) olives or cut up veggies.
Here are the coupons you need to pick up these items to save on your deli party tray or platter:
