Cathedral Café of Fayetteville West Virginia – Visit West Virginia – Since we had such good luck following the locals’ advice on where to eat, our family decided to try another favorite with the people in Fayetteville, West Virginia. The Cathedral Café is directly across from the Hard Rock Climbing Adventure so between coming highly recommended by River Expeditions, and the great location, it was a no-brainer to give this café a try. It is a former church that has been converted to a relaxed setting for coffee and unique American food that will have you begging for more!
The Cathedral Café is a “cool little hippie joint”, so they say on their Facebook page, with the “best coffee in town”. It’s a quaint place with a great vibe that brings fun and food close together. The desserts, soups, pastries and other delights are all homemade and we can attest to the fact that it was fantastic.
Our family dined in for breakfast where we found this place excelling in healthy fare. Taking a look at the lunch and dinner menu, I found lots of items to choose from that sounded delicious and unique, as well. Their appetizers included a smoked salmon pita pizza and the salads offered everything from a house salad to a Cajun chicken tortellini salad. There are quesadillas, paninis and sandwiches, including a chipotle cheesesteak, a corned beef Rueben and classic beef gyro. There was something for everyone in my family to enjoy. Desserts included warm bread pudding, a variety of ice cream to cool you off on a warm summer day, berry cobblers, carrot cake and a brownie sundae.
The Cathedral Café had ample seating if you wanted to go there with a large family or even a group. They can seat you outside or inside and you certainly don’t have to be afraid to bring the kids! (even if they are picky eater like mine) The dress is casual and reservations aren’t necessary. If you are visiting River Expeditions or just passing through, try to stop in for a bite and a cup of coffee. You’ll love the ambiance and the food is truly scrumptious.scrumptious and fresh!
