I have the BEST chocolate covered
pretzel recipe! This is a unique recipe with a combination of peanut butter and chocolate on pretzels and it is absolutely delicious! I took this to my home school cooperative family game night and these were a HUGE hit!!! They are so delicious! It’s the PERFECT combination of sweeet and salty. These would make a great DIY homemade Christmas or Hanukkah present for a friend or neighbor this year.
Ingredients for Chocolate Covered Pretzel Recipe:
- Chocolate
- Pretzels
(for the peanut butter)
- 1 (16 ounce) package confectioners’ sugar
- 1 cup Skippy creamy peanut butter
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 8 (1 ounce) squares semi-sweet chocolate(or chocolate chips)
- 2 tablespoon shortening (like coconut oil or any shortening you like)
In a mixing bowl, combine confectioners’ sugar, peanut butter, butter and milk (if needed for moisture) until blended. Place your peanut butter mixture in a decorators bag or just use a zipper seal bag and cut a small spot in the corner to make a homemade one.
Place on your pretzels (see image)
Chocolate dipping part:
While the peanut butter on the pretzels is setting, melt chocolate in top of double boiler with shortening ( like coconut oil if needed). Melt over medium heat, stirring frequently until smooth.dip it in melted chocolate to cover top only (not entire pretzel) then place on waxed paper (Reynolds parchment paper you don’t have to place on parchment but it helps keep them from sticking & my mom was always big on Reynold’s products so I’ve stuck with it since it worked for her!) to set.
Enjoy!
