If you are looking for craft ideas for kids then look no further….. I have found the most awesome inspiration at MyPrintly.com!!!
My daughter and I were looking for a fun craft photo type project to hang on our family tree wall. A few years back my husband and I painted a large tree on the wall of our living room. I then purchased various frames from local thrift shops and slowly (and I mean slowly) I’ve been filling the frames with my favorites photos. Well we loved the project and it was a fun creative thing but we wanted more personality in it. That is when we came up with the idea of a craft 3-D photo frame thanks to some awesome inspiration at MrPrintly.com.
Below you will find instructions. Printing at home and using a frame from a thrift store made this project super easy and affordable. This makes for a great gift for parents, grandparents, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day etc. It’s highly creative and personalized – something you won’t find in a store purchased item.P
Materials Needed
- HP Photo Paper
- Printer
- Green Paint or Green Crayons (either one is fine)
- Picture Frame (glass removed)
- Kitchen Baking Cups
- favorite photo of child’s face
- thin white Cardboard or thick paper (cut to fit picture frame)
- glue
Directions: Print your favorite photo (be sure to pick one with a nice image of your child’s face so it’s nice and clear & up close) using your HP photo paper.
Cut a piece of paper or cardboard the same size as your frame and remove the glass from the frame. Cut out the face/head in a circle. The circle should be approximately the same size as the flat bottom part of your baking cup.
Paint or use crayons to make your flower stem (can be straight or crooked line – there’s no right or wrong) and add 1 or 2 “leaves” with your paint or crayon. Your “stem” should start about 3/4ths way down.
Glue your baking cup to top of the “stem” for your “flower.” Glue face/head image onto the bottom of the baking cup. That make the 3-D flower face.
Customize as you see fit – my daughter added a sun and sky.
Hang and enjoy your frugal, fun, totally creative gift! Thanks for the HP photo paper and inspiration MyPrintly.com This post is part of a sponsored campaign with MyPrintly and MomSelect. All fun thoughts and opinions are my own, of course!
