Do you wanna build a snow man? …..or ice skate for Disney on Ice? I’m so excited to share this interview with the 2 lead ice skaters with Disney on Ice – Mr. & Mrs. Brendyn & Jessica Hatfield!
You may think this romantic couple lives the perfect life but their journey to obtain the contract to skate for Disney on Ice was nothing but sweat and tears. They started their lives having fun on the frozen water at the young age of 5 & 6. After hard work and training they developed their solo careers on the ice but soon after met, fell in love, and married with more passion and zest for life than most in their entire lives.
Although it seems like the perfect dream their married life was less than perfect! While touring in Europe Brendyn suffered a serious knee injury on the ice, the kind that would retire most pro skaters, but NOT Brendyn Hatfield. With the help of his beautiful wife, they saved for surgery and afterwards spent the next year pushing thru a long and painful recovery with multiple doctor visits and countless physical therapy sessions. After over a year of recovery they set their sights on skating once again.
The happy couple earned the contract skating as a couple for Disney on Ice. What a dream! They’re doing what they love, being paid and making families happy everywhere they go, knowing that dreams really do come true!
Although Jessica is a registered nurse skating is her true passion. Whats not to love about traveling the world! I asked if the couple had time off for travel and to my amazement the answer during their touring season contract is “YES!” I quickly learned that the couple fell in love with Charm City Baltimore and already has their favorites when they come into town. What would you guess? The National Aquarium in Baltimore, of course (it’s a favorite with locals too)!
